Development of the game might have been affected by loss

Shigenobu Matsuyama, who is a producer working on Metal Gear Solid: Rising, has stepped down from the project, replaced by Yuji Korekado, who had also previously worked in a senior role inside the development team.

Matsuyama has apparently moved to another division inside the Hideo Kojima lead development studio.

The change in personnel at the top might mean trouble for the game and will not be welcomed by fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, who are already annoyed by the fact that there have been almost no official updates on development status in the last few months.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising is the first game in the long running franchise which does not feature Snake as the main character and relies on Raiden, the half cyborg seen in Sons of Liberty, to drive the plot forward.

The game will rely on a cut and take mechanics, which allows gamers to slow down time in order to cut their enemies and then get components and consumables to update his own power.
