Chinese manufacturer Meizu has just confirmed that its M9 smartphone will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade.

In addition, the company's upcoming MX smartphone, which is expected to hit shelves next month will also receive the Android 4.0.

Meizu's CEO Jack Wong stated that “the release date for the MX remains unchanged, but for the MX and M9 we will try our best to upgrade to (Android) 4.0 as soon as possible.”

Apparently there will be two versions of the Meizu MX, a 16GB model equipped with a dual-core processor, and a 32GB version powered by a quad-core CPU.

However, the rest of the features are similar and include an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display, removable back cover and front-facing cameras.

According to Wong, the MX will go for $780 (565 EUR) for the 32GB variant and $625 (453 EUR) for the dual-core 16GB model.
