Electronic Arts has confirmed that its recent Mass Effect 3 game sold almost 900,000 copies in its first 24 hours of availability.

Lots of gamers from all over the world eagerly awaited Mass Effect 3 and it seems that the release of the role playing shooter has been a great success, at least according to EA CEO John Riccitiello.

The executive talked with Venture Beat and confirmed that 890,000 copies of Mass Effect 3 were sold in 24 hours of availability in the U.S.

What’s more, despite the fact that lots of players were angry at the day-one From Ashes DLC pack, it seems that almost 40 percent of customers bought it alongside the actual game, at least according to data from GameStop.

Expect to hear some more sales details next week, after EA tallies data from both North America and the rest of the world.
