The online third-person shooter Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West has received an update that will enrich the game with a new map and a new multiplayer mode. The title's developer, Fatshark, and its publisher, Paradox Interactive, have announced that the game will update itself once it connects to the Internet. This new batch of content is available on the PC for Steam users at the moment, with the PlayStation 3 version to follow at a later time.

The new mode, entitled Demolition, is a Powder Keg spin-off that has both of the teams aiming to destroy various objectives. It may be worth remembering that, in Powder Keg, one gang of players is on the attacking side trying to blow up various targets that the other team must defend. Jacob's Bridge is the name of the new map and it features new art design and a new setting, in the northern region of the Wild West. This location will support Greed, Conquest, Shootout and Demolition modes.

This update is also meant to patch various problems of the game. The players are now able to switch teams at any time during the course of a multiplayer match, not only in the respawn screen. Also, they have the right to vote to kick players that are ruining the game, a feature that was requested by many of the fans. Other fixes include an enhanced chat functionality, better in-game key mapping and a redesigned options panel for the help menu.

Lead and Gold is the first title developed by the Swedish studio Fatshark, founded in 2008. At the moment, it is working on Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 that is to be published by Capcom. Not many details have been revealed about this future release other than the addition of the ability to jump. It will be launched in the first quarter of 2011 on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
