South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is getting ready for the launch of a new flagship Android-based smartphone, the LG G2, and rumor has it that Verizon will bring the device to its customers in the United States sometime in September.

No official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, but a recent post on Korean news outlet The Kyunghyang Shinmun claims that an LG executive has let this piece of information slip.

Furthermore, it says that the device, set to be officially announced on August 7, will arrive in South Korea before the end of August, while set to be launched in Europe and other markets starting with October.

As BGR notes, the LG G2 is also expected to arrive at AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States before the end of the year, given that it has already received FCC approvals with support for the networks of these carriers.
