Keira Knightley has just confirmed that she won't make a comeback appearance in the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean 5.” She was expected to make a return alongside Orlando Bloom, who announced interest in the next installment of the franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

The actress who played Elizabeth Swan in the first three movies of the franchise was present at the Toronto International Film Festival this week, where she was promoting her latest project, “The Imitation Game,” when she confirmed that she had no plans to return to the franchise.

Making a nautical joke that seemed to be in keeping with the movie's theme, Keira is quoted by Aceshowbiz to have said, “This ship has sailed.” Both Knightley and Orlando Bloom were left out of the previous movie in the series “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” as Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow, was given a new love interest, played by Penelope Cruz.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp has already confirmed that he will star again in the movie, and it is hoped that Orlando Bloom will also eventually accept.  Jerry Bruckheimer in also involved on the project as a producer, as are Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, who will be directing the flick.

The fifth movie is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2017.
