14 DAY TRIAL // BigPark, the studio behind Kinect Joy Ride, the racing game for the Kinect sensor on the Xbox 360, has unveiled a sequel of sorts, in the form of Joy Ride Turbo, which now relies just on the controller to maneuver its array of cars.
Kinect Joy Ride appeared back in 2010 and, while it delivered an interesting racing experience that controlled just with the Kinect sensor, many players wanted to try out their skills with a more precise controller, instead of their clunky gestures.
Now, their wish is coming true, as BigPark has announced Joy Ride Turbo, a new kart racing game that handles just with the controller and features all sorts of additions over the original Kinect Joy Ride.
"Experience the freedom and adventure of the open road in the all new Stunt Park, a vast, vibrant playground for your car where you can jump off cliffs, shoot out of a cannon, and more,” BigPark said.
“In Stunt Park, only your steering & imagination limit the whacky tour de force you can achieve with friends. Explore the park’s depths to collect trophies, car parts, and coins to unlock 42 vehicles, each with its own unique characteristics – giving you the edge to show off death-defying tricks and race even faster."
Plenty of other things are included in the game, together with multiplayer modes, from a local 4-player split-screen, to 8-player online matches.
"Race your way through stunning new tracks, old favorites and 3 modes of play: Battle Race, Pro Race & Time Trial. Challenge family & friends to local 4-player split-screen or race up to 8 on Xbox Live. With Joy Ride Turbo, everyone’s in the driver’s seat in this whacky kart racing action."
According to the studio, the release of Joy Ride Turbo is just "weeks away" but, unfortunately, a concrete launch date hasn’t been revealed.
