Windows 8.1 comes with a completely new browser version that’s supposed to be safer, more secure, and faster than all its predecessors. At least, that’s what Microsoft claims.
It turns out, however, that some Windows 8.1 users are experiencing a pretty awkward problem when trying to use Google Search in Internet Explorer 11.
The layout of the results page appears to be broken down in Microsoft’s latest browser due to what seems to be a browser compatibility issue. WinBeta is reporting that pressing Alt+X in Internet Explorer 11 and unchecking the “Use Microsoft compatibility lists” option could fix the issue.
While it’s not yet clear if all Windows 8.1 users are experiencing the rendering issue, Redmond is most likely looking into the issue as we speak, so expect more details on this anytime soon.
