In terms of storage, companies mostly focus on developing and releasing new hard disk drives and solid state drives, but there are those, like Icy Dock, that create accessories or complementary products, such as, in this case, the MB994SP-4S, a 4-drive 5.25-inch rack.

As end-users well know, computer cases all have a number of 3.5-inch drive bays, some even boasting 2.5-inch Brackets, but the 5.25-inch bays take up most of the space invested in storage options.

However, most of said 5.25-inch bays often go unused, because even enthusiasts often have no need for more than one Blu-ray burner.

As such, Icy Dock decided it would use those bays to enable the easier addition of 2.5-inch storage solutions.

To achieve this goal, it came up with the MB994SP-4S, a HDD/SSD rack that fits inside any 5.25-inch bay while providing enough room for no less than four different 2.5-inch drives.

To be more specific, the rack can house up to four hard disk drives or solid state drives, each of which will have its own door and tray.

Thus, adding or removing any or all storage solutions will be very easily achieved, especially knowing that there are four connectors at the back of the enclosure, one for each unit.

Basically, the newcomer has four SATA or SAS ports at the back, allowing the four HDD/SSD to communicate with the PC individually.

To reflect this, each tray also features its own drive activity indicator. What's more, the rack draws power from the PSU through two Molex connectors.

Finally, the EZ Slide Mini Trays allow fast and easy swapping and maintenance, while a pair of 40mm fans on the rear side keep the units cool.

All in all, the product measures 6.7 x 5.75 x 1.63 inches but, unfortunately, has not yet been given a price or availability date.
