Officially unveiled earlier this month, the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system has just been successfully ported on the popular Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.

The Galaxy S is the third device joining the list of smartphone that were successfully upgraded with an alpha build of the Ice Cream Sandwich platform, after Nexus S and HTC Thunderbolt tasted the same treatment courtesy to the guys over at XDA.

Given the fact that Google has yet to release the ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) source code, developers have been using the platform's SDK to cook unofficial ROMs for different Android phones.

Even though the Galaxy S with Ice Cream Sandwich need a lot of work before decently functioning, it's nice to know that developers are busy cooking ICS builds for various devices.
