Alongside the new ThinkPad Helix 2, at IFA 2014 Lenovo today debuted a new 15-inch multi-modal business machine going by the name of Edge 15.

According to the PC maker, this device was launched in order to appease the growing demand for versatile machines that aren't bulky and heavy.

The Edge 15 comes equipped with a 300-degree hinge which will allow future owners to use the device either in traditional laptop mode or in touch-centric stand mode.

The lappy is made of aluminum, weighs just 5 lbs / 2.2 kg and is less than one inch in profile. As for the technical specifications, the Edge 15 comes with a 15.6-inch IPS Full HD display with 10-point touch support and the ever-present AccuType backlit keyboard.

In the computing department, users have a choice between Intel Core i5 and Core i7 chips (Haswell), which are to be fitted with 1TB of storage and up to 8GB of RAM.

As for GPU, Lenovo gives you the opportunity to go for either the NVIDIA GeForce GT840M graphics card or Intel HD graphics.

Users should be able to use the laptop for up to eight hours without a problem, or at least that’s what Lenovo claims. The laptop arrives in October and will sell for $899 / €684.
