The smartphone may arrive in the Mainland as early as August

Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei Ascend D quad has been delayed a few times for unknown reasons.

According to the latest hearsay, the smartphone will initially be launched in China next month. Huawei Ascend D quad will be rolled out globally soon after it makes its debut in the Mainland.

Although the Chinese company did not unveil any details regarding the phone’s price tag, the guys over at MyDrivers, citing sources close to the matter, claim the device will be available for 2,999 yuan (470 USD or 380 EUR) outright.

The smartphone will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system onboard and Huawei’s own K3V2 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz.

The phone also boasts an 8-megapixel rear camera and a large 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
