Video game developer and publisher Paradox Interactive has announced that Hearts of Iron The Card Game, its free-to-play and browser-based CCG linked to World War II, has received a significant update, with gamers now getting access to 60 new cards they can use in their decks and a number of new game mechanics.

There are 6 new doctrines in the new cards, 5 new Headquarters cards and each faction gets specific new toys to play with.

There are also three new leaders added to the decks, with Keith Park, Albert Kesselring and Ivan Chernyakhovsky altering the landscape of the game.

The developers have also introduced a new Hidden feature for some cards, allowing a gamer to hide them from an opponent until they are actually used, making the gameplay more surprising.

There are also new units, both infantry, artillery, tanks and planes with various new abilities that will change the tactics that players deploy during battle.

Newcomers can start here.
