It seems that 343 Industries, besides putting the finishing touches on the upcoming Halo 4, has begun working on a remastered version of Halo 2, as a follow-up to last year's Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition.

Microsoft's Halo franchise has been around for quite some time and has produced a variety of great games both on the original Xbox and on the Xbox 360.

After the success of last year's Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, which celebrated 10 years since the release of the first game by remastering it for the Xbox 360, it seems that a follow-up is now in development.

According to OXM UK, via CVG, the game is already in the process of remastering and might be released next year, as an interlude between Halo 4 (out in November), and Halo 5, which might appear in 2014.

As of yet, neither Microsoft nor 343 Industries has commented on the rumor.
