One of the smartphones that the Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is set to make official next year is supposedly codenamed HTC M8, and should arrive on shelves as the future flagship handset from the company.

No specific info on what the upcoming device might sport in terms of hardware has been provided as of now, but a recent post on Pocket-lint claims that the phone is certain to be launched in 2013.

This year’s flagship Android-based smartphone from the company was known under the codename of M7, which suggests that its successor could indeed be named M8.

Later this year, HTC is expected to merge the Butterfly and One series, which means that the aforementioned device would arrive on shelves with the better of the two worlds, though specific details on the matter have yet to be provided.
