This particular conceptual phone looks doable

There has been a lot of talk about HTC’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the One M9. First of all, the handset won’t be called that, as HTC is looking to revitalize its nomenclature in order to put a fresh spin on its products.

So come 2015, when the new device comes out, expect it to arrive under the Hima moniker. The device was first rumored to be headed for a CES 2015 unveiling, but newer rumors indicate that HTC will be holding a standalone launching event for the device sometime after the Las Vegas event closes its gates.

Purported HTC Hima specs are already available

The handset is expected to arrive with a 5-inch full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution), an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM and nestling a 2840 mAh battery.

The device has also been said to arrive with Sense 7 plastered on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop, but given the fact that HTC has only been working on Sense 6.0 Lollipop, we don’t know how serious this information actually is.

Hima is supposed to don a powerful 20.7MP/13MP camera duo. Other rumors say the 13MP camera could turn out to be a 4MP one with UltraPixel technology. The phone will be reportedly capable of Cat6 LTE speeds.

All this is nice and nifty and we saw the phone leak in a few images showing parts of it, but while we wait on the real deal to appear, designer H. Tahir imagined what HTC’s Hima will look like when it reaches us.

When you look at the renders, the first thing that strikes you is the frontal speakers which are situated on the bottom flanking the central HTC logo. The speakers on top are also split and flank the frontal camera.

This arrangement indicates we’re dealing with 4 BoomSound speakers, so the HTC Hima might be able to bring forth astounding levels of sound.

The bezels on the HTC Hima are super-thin

The Android buttons are actually virtual and judging by what we see in the images, we can assume the display is slightly curved. Bezels are practically non-existent but haven’t been eradicated completely.

Sadly, Tahir doesn’t show us what its imagined Hima phone looks like from the back. Nevertheless, the phone seems to be made out of titanium or aluminum, so it’s certainly both light and solid.

So what do you think of this HTC Hima concept? Would you like to see something similar be unveiled by HTC during their March event?
