A lot of MacBook Pro users who installed MacBook Pro Retina EFI Update v1.0 are reporting graphical hiccups, including reduced frame rates and processor slowdowns.

Numerous threads on Apple Support Communities are actively discussing a potential issue with Retina MacBook Pro computers after installing MacBook Pro Retina EFI Update v1.0, released by Apple in September.

Some say the issues trickle in when their Macs wake from sleep, while others say it affects Windows installations in Boot Camp. However, most commenters seem to agree to that the problems only arise when their Macs are under heavy workload.

Apple is actively testing OS X 10.8.3 internally, but it may seem that a new EFI firmware update will be required to fix these problems. We’ll keep you posted with any possible resolutions to the problem.
