If you have ever wanted to know whether you have all it takes to become the supreme ruler, Paradox Interactive is offering you the means to find out the answer when it releases the geopolitical wargame Supreme Ruler 2020. And the game will finally be released for a suggested retail price of $39.99 on the 17th of June 2008.

The game is developed by Battlegoat Studios and it is set in an apocalyptic future full of global turmoil. It promises to surpass the original game from all points of view and offer a real time strategy experience (RTS) fans will not forget too soon.

"We've created a strategy game with unmatched scope and depth. We set our sights high - play the whole world, all at once, without limits on the numbers of units, facilities, or other elements. Zoom in to examine a single city, or zoom out to see the whole world. Trade, ally or battle with hundreds of real-world countries. It's all in there", says George Geczy, Lead Programmer and co-founder of BattleGoat Studios.

The game begins in the year 2020 when the world is being divided in two. As it usually happens in such circumstances, war emerges and, as they said in old gladiator TV shows, there can only be one. It should better be you, or else you'll get a "Game over" you will definitely dislike.

Among the key features of Supreme Ruler 2020, we'll have a full control option in any department of our cabinet (of course, we can play lazy and allow Cabinet Ministers to take all the decisions), hundreds of actual military vehicles to research, construct and deploy on the battlefield as well as the option to choose between conventional or nuclear warfare. We'll also get a flexible, but fully detailed Diplomatic Interface in order to negotiate with enemies and allies, over 250 real-life lookalike images (provided by NASA, the real one) and, of course, single or multi player support. All these should be enough to turn Supreme Ruler 2020 into the perfect choice for the hardcore RTS fans.
