Video game developer Gearbox has officially revealed Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, the first piece of DLC for Borderlands 2, after the add-on was first suggested by a number of Achievements found in the Mechromancer release.

The new content will be offered on October 16 and all those who are interested in getting it will have to pay 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 or 10 dollars or Euro on other platforms.

Those who have already paid for a Season Pass for Borderlands 2 will get Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty for free.

The new content will see the main character of the game travel to a new area called Oasis, which involves a desert and a lot of pirates.

The theme is enhanced by the use of hoverships that will allow players to move around and, hopefully, engage in some boarding action.

The DLC adds a new vendor that offers high-level gear.
