Almost everything is working, though it is still not an official release

Owners of a Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone who would like to load new software on their devices can now try out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, courtesy of a new AOSP port for them.

This is not the first such ROM available for the smartphone, but it is said to be far better working than the previously available ones.

Coming from XDA-Developers member Faryaab, the ROM sports working camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, storage and audio, which weren’t available in earlier builds.

Apparently, there are some caveats with the Wi-Fi tethering, but the software is ready for everyday use, those who installed it report.

The port is available only for the International flavor of Galaxy S III and requires for users to factory reset their devices and use a custom recovery like ClockworkMod. In the end, this is not an official release for Galaxy S III and users should be careful when installing it.
