South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics might be getting ready for the launch of the next device in the Galaxy Note series for the summer, earlier than previously rumored.

A recent report from DigiTimes claims that the upcoming device, supposedly called Galaxy Note III, will be launched in July-August, although it was previously said to arrive in late August or early September, as UnwiredView notes.

No official confirmation on the smartphone has been provided as of now, but rumor has it that it will be released as an appealing upgrade over last year’s Galaxy Note II.

Samsung is expected to pack the device with a 6-inch touchscreen display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, 2GB of RAM or more, and a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with optical image stabilization capabilities, while running under the latest Android release.
