Most of the changes in the fresh, official release of Firefox 13 focus on improvements for developers, but the overall performance and functionality of the browser have also been enhanced.

The new tab page now displays thumbs with the most visited pages while the default home page has been redesigned to offer quicker access to bookmarks, history or settings area.

As for performance, SPDY protocol is now enabled by default in order to speed up browsing on supported websites. Also, restored background tabs are loaded as you access them for a faster startup.

However, web developers benefit from most of the modifications as Mozilla brings to the table no less than 72 improvements to Page Inspector, HTML panel, Style Inspector, Scratchpad and Style Editor.

Additionally, there is support for CSS3 properties such as “column-fill” and “background-position.” Also new is experimental support for ECMAScript 6 Map and Set objects.
