We’ve heard and seen quite a lot of things about the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2 role playing game from Square Enix and now, after some very impressive cinematic trailers, the Japanese company has finally treated us with a gameplay video, showcasing its enhanced battle system.

Final Fantasy XIII was a pretty serious departure for the series, but XIII-2 promises to streamline its combat mechanics and allow players to pull off fluid moves and attacks alongside their companions.

While the visuals will be spectacular, as always in a Square Enix game, from the footage above we can see that the actual gameplay is also quite impressive.

Check out the enhanced battle system trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 above and get ready for the game’s release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on December 15, in Japan, and on January 31, 2012, in North America, while European gamers will get it on February 3.
