Fatal Inertia, KOEI's futuristic combat racing title soon to launch for the Xbox 360 (and later for the PS3), has officially gone Gold. The publisher itself has made the big announcement, making it clear that the game will be available at retailers throughout North America starting September 11th. A free demo of Fatal Inertia is up for grabs on Xbox Live, offering single player and split-screen two-player combat races, as well as velocity races.

The announcement also reveals that Fatal Inertia will indeed include, 8-player racing on Xbox Live or on System Link, over 1.3 million race craft customization combinations plus 15,000 performance combinations, 51 courses across 6 distinct racing environments and of course, achievements - 50 of them to be precise.

Here are the locations you'll be visiting when Fatal Inertia launches:

Lost Canyon Deepwoods Pass Paradise Isle Devil's Peak Glacier Bay

As for the vehicles you'll be using to whoosh through the beautiful landscapes, here are the classes:

Phoenix Class Aurora Class Mercury Class Titan Class And since we're on the topic, fans should know that each craft will be armed with its own array of unconventional weapons that manipulate velocity, force and sometimes even time. For example, some vehicles will treat gamers to explosive magnets that impact race craft stability or rockets that can counter thrust and velocity.

Of course, a game such as Fatal Inertia couldn't have made a name for itself if it hadn't been for Epic's Unreal Engine 3 to power it. Nowadays, every major franchise has borrowed the technology so if you're looking for next-gen fun, Fatal Inertia is the title for you.

We've made available six out of 8 new screens depicting the game's interface, locations and crafts. Have a look below.
