Builders trying to cut corners draw windows on building

A government housing project in China is raising eyebrows worldwide for the choice of decoration on the exterior part of the building.

As editors at Kotaku point out, the building has fake windows painted on in dark blue. The frames are drawn in white, imitating the plastic windows on the other side of the building. Surprisingly, the real windows face towards the interior of the building.

Rows of single windows are dabbed on the apartment complex, and it appears that the purpose of the decoration may not be an aesthetic one.

The buildings are built with government funding, and they are rented out and sold to low-income earners for very little money.

However, it appears that the builders have been trying to spend as little as possible on actually constructing them, and real windows are too high of an expense.
