Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced up to 470 increase in graphics performance for its AMILO Notebook Sa 3650, which can provide high graphics while maintaining its mobility. Basically, the notebook gets paired with the AMILO GraphicBooster in a premiere external graphics solution from the IT infrastructure provider. The new duo is able to provide all that a power user would need: it is small, smart, powerful and stylish.

The GraphicBooster owes its power to the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 graphics card which features 512 MB of dedicated graphics memory. Through it, HD video and HD image processing are just easy tasks for the AMILO Notebook Sa 3650, which now also allows for up to three monitors to be connected. The GraphicBooster features both DVI-I and HDMI ports, while the notebook includes its own DVI-I connection. The duo will become available at specialist retailers starting December 2008.

“We want to offer our customers state-of-the-art technology not for technology's sake but to add value,” explains Hartmut Woerrlein, Senior Director Consumer Notebooks at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “With the development of the GraphicBooster with our partner AMD we are meeting our customers' requirements for flexibility and high performance: small and versatile in combination with high performance.”

The AMILO Notebook Sa 3650 has been developed to provide a good amount of processing power by itself as well, as it packs inside a state-of-the-art AMD processor and up to 4 GB of memory. In addition, it also sports integrated draft-n WLAN, integrated Bluetooth 2.0 and, courtesy of the ATI Radeon HD 3200 on-board graphics, a battery life of up to 4.5 hours. All these are included in a 13.3-inch form factor mobile PC which weighs only 2.4 kilos.

However, the features list of the AMILO Notebook Sa 3650 does not end here. The machine also comes with SATA SuperMulti-Format DVD writer with Double Layer support, spill-proof keyboard as well as numerous interfaces, including DVI-I, eSATA, USB 2.0, and a 15-in-1 card reader. The notebook successfully combines the state-of-the-art technology with an appealing design.

“The GraphicBooster is a truly revolutionary solution, offering incredible versatility and scalability by allowing notebooks to switch between everyday computing and hard-core gaming with a simple plug-in that’s portable enough to enable powerful 3D performance on-the-go,” said Ian McNaughton, Senior Product and Platform Marketing Manager, AMD. “Powered by ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3870, the GraphicBooster redefines what mobile graphics is all about, allowing users to choose notebooks with slim, lightweight designs, yet enjoying the superior performance of a traditional desktop gaming rig wherever it’s convenient, with outstanding mobility and battery life. The combination of the AMILO Notebook Sa 3650 and the GraphicBooster make this an industry-changing solution.”
