The development team at Sony Online Entertainment is wasting no time in delivering the first developer diary for its EverQuest Next, which is called Inside the Black Box and offers information on the tools that players can use to create new game content.

Terry Michaels, a senior producer working on the MMO, talks to a number of other members of the studio and shares details about the development process for the coming game.

Some of the people shown in the video are using tools that will be included in Landmark in order to create content for the game.

EverQuest Next will be launched at some point in 2014 and introduces destructible terrain, a new classless structure and choices that will change the entire MMO world.

Landmark will be launched late in 2013 and will be similar to Minecraft in terms of core mechanics.
