Video game publisher Paradox Interactive announces that Europa Universalis IV will be launched on the PC on August 13 of this year and will be playable on release using Windows, Mac and Linux.

The team is also delivering a new trailer for the game, which shows off a number of the core features of the grand strategy series.

Europa Universalis IV is also available for pre-order for a price of 39.99 dollars or Euro, with an Extreme Edition set to retail for 10 dollars or Euro more.

Via Steam, those who are ready to buy it can get a 10 percent price cut.

The single player allows gamers to select a nation and guide it through history any way they see fit.

The game will also have a bigger multiplayer focus, powered by Steamworks, which will allow up to 32 gamers to compete against one another.
