Europa Universalis IV is one of the most eagerly awaited strategy titles of the year and the team at Paradox Development Studios wants to address one of the historic weaknesses of the series: The Artificial Intelligence.

Developer are saying that the computer is better able to deal with war and peace negotiations, with the strategy required by combat and with the influence of other nations.

The team says as part of a developer diary that, “In Europa Universalis IV, the AI's strategic goals towards a particular country are factored into an 'attitude' which reflects its long-term view on that country.”

In Europa Universalis IV minors will also be able to attach their smaller armies to those controlled by the player, which makes warfare easier to control for a gamer who has many allies.

EU IV is set to launch on August 13 on the PC.
