14 DAY TRIAL // Gust and Tecmo Koei have released a series of screenshots from the upcoming Atelier Escha & Logy Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, showing some of the new features and characters in action.
The Japanese role-playing game was initially released on the PlayStation 3 home entertainment system from Sony back in 2013, and was met with a lot of enthusiasm by the gaming community, even spawning an anime adaptation earlier last year.
Since then, Gust announced that an enhanced edition of the video game, dubbed Atelier Escha & Logy Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, would be coming out for the PlayStation Vita handheld gaming device in January this year.
The enhanced edition was touted to come with a few new playable characters, with new enemies to defeat, and some new story events to enjoy.
For the time being, the Vita edition will only be available in Japan, with no word yet of a western port. Given that the original game was localized and released in the West around nine months after its Japanese launch, it's highly likely that the game will also reach western audiences sometime soon.
What the Plus stands for
The new screenshots show a ton of stuff, from the new characters to battle sequences and powerful abilities that use a ton of colorful light effects.
One of the characters playing a bigger role in Atelier Escha & Logy Plus: Alchemists of Dusk Sky is Nio Altugle, who uses a ladle as weapon and can cure negative status effects and can even revive knocked-out characters.
The game will also have a ton of new story scenes, further expanding on the story of Escha and Logy and explaining their bond, as you can see in the gallery below.
Atelier Escha & Logy Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is scheduled to come out in Japan, on January 22, exclusively to the PlayStation Vita handheld system.
