Playing The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2, Watch Dogs, Wargame and more

Andrei Dumitrescu: Europa Universalis IV has a new expansion out, called Wealth of Nations, which means that most of my weekend will be occupied by my attempt to use a trade-focused nation in order to try and dominate the world.

I tend to play as well-rounded nations in the grand strategy title because I want to be able to focus on all the opportunities presented to me, but I will make an exception and try to dominate Atlantic trade as Spain, a country that also gives me colonization and warfare-based progress paths.

Wealth of Nations introduces a large amount of changes to plenty of game features, from religion to ideas and to how combat works, and it might take a number of campaigns before I manage to become comfortable with Europe Universalis IV.

At the same time, I still have plans to get in at least one match of Wargame: Red Dragon, preferably using the Cat C decks I have grown to love, even if finding opponents is sometimes a challenge.

Andrei Dobra: This weekend, I'm going to take up arms against the humans of Anomaly: Defenders, as in the latest tower defense experience, the aliens who've attacked earth and forced to retreat in from of the human onslaught.

I’ve already previewed the game earlier this month and I'm eager to see what modifications 11 Bit Studios have made to it in the meantime.

When I am not squishing humans, I'll probably hack them in Watch Dogs, as I want to go back to the experience and engage a bit more in the open world of Chicago and the different activities scattered throughout it, like the Digital Trips or augmented reality challenges.

Radu Haulica: Last weekend, I was busily slaying the forces of evil (or at least of a nature distinct from my own, which is enough in video games) across Borgovia, in an effort to liberate the city and its inhabitants once again.

Now that I'm done with the campaign, it's time to explore the endgame content that The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2 has to offer. I dabbled a bit in the game's end-level scenarios, but haven't had the time to fully explore what they have to offer.

So that pretty much wraps my plans for the weekend, gathering materials while trying out some new skill builds in the random maps, and then seeing if I can craft myself some neat pieces of armor for my Thaumaturge.

As it turns out, experimenting with crafting is quite taxing, and requires quite a lot of grinding for mats, which can lead to some burnout pretty quick. Thankfully, the fact that you can completely alter your build between grinding sessions alleviates some of that.
