Developer Waystone Games and publisher Electronic Arts have unveiled another trailer for their upcoming multiplayer online battle arena game Dawngate, during EA's press conference event at this year's edition of the E3 convention taking place in Los Angeles.

Waystone Games aims to raise the standards of the MOBA genre when it comes to customization, and the behind-the-scenes video shown at E3 reveals that there is room for a large narrative inside the MOBA format.

The trailer for the multiplayer-focused title promises to deliver a massive story arc that will prove an immersive background story that includes all the characters that populate the game, offering each playable hero on the roster a goal to fight for.

The game will introduce a section devoted to the world's lore, consisting of various pieces of reference information aimed towards those interested in the rich backstory of the characters and the history of the world, and each map will include its own story that players are encouraged to take part in.

The developers are proud to show that Dawngate allows players to customize and balance their characters and teams however they see fit in order to optimize gameplay.

Waystone Games is made of hardcore MOBA players, a team custom-built to create a great MOBA experience, with people that know what the genre's needs, what it lacks and what are the best things about it, and as such are dedicated to pushing it further.

The title is geared toward hardcore MOBA gamers, and those familiar with Valve's Dota or Riot Games' League of Legends will, no doubt, see the similarities between the games.

Dawngate will feature battles against two teams that consist of five Shapers each, with two lanes, for now set in a jungle environment.

In order to increase strategy and offer a more diverse play style, the developers intend to also introduce some economic elements into the game. Players will be able to grab loot drops called Blessings from friends and foes, rewarding daring feats and teamwork, as well as sportsmanship.

EA's MOBA, Dawngate, does not yet have an official release date tacked to it, but it just entered open beta testing last month. The final version of Dawngate will be free to play, expected to be self-supported through in-game microtransactions that unlock premium content.
