Frank Gibeau, the leader of the Labels division at Electronic Arts, explains what his company aims to do with the recently acquired Star Wars license and how the new titles will be created.

Speaking to investors after the announcement of the 2013 fiscal year results, the executive states, “Our agreement unlocks a whole new future of Star Wars games that will span consoles, PCs, tablets, mobile, and more.”

He adds, “We are not releasing details about the games today, but some of our most renowned and innovative creative teams are working on ideas.”

The relationship between the new video games and the planned Disney movies has been questioned and the executive says that the stories themselves will be unique, but will have links to the coming trilogy.

New Star Wars video games are expected to start arriving in 2014.
