A longer development cycle might benefit the Call of Duty series, according to EA

Without a doubt, one of the biggest announcements of the week is Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which was finally confirmed by Activision and Treyarch.

While many people were quite thrilled with the game’s reveal, Electronic Arts’ Global Product Manager Kevin O’Leary voiced his pessimism on his personal Twitter account, saying that the Call of Duty series would certainly benefit from a longer development cycle.

"Poor [Black Ops II], you look tired, you should take a year off and rest," O'Leary posted on Twitter, via Gamespot.

The message was quickly taken down, however, supposedly by O’Leary himself, who also deleted his Twitter account.

While the message was obviously a personal statement, O’Leary should’ve considered the implications of making such a claim as the leader of Activision’s biggest rival.

What do you think? Does O’Leary have a point or do you think he just wants this kind of attention for EA’s own shooter franchises, like Battlefield or Medal of Honor?
