After hearing that neither Microsoft nor Nintendo will be present at Gamescom 2012 this August, attendants have now received some good news, as Electronic Arts has confirmed that it’s going to participate at the convention in Germany.

E3 2012 closed its doors a couple of weeks ago and already quite a few companies have confirmed that they won’t be attending any other conventions this year.

This is bad news for those who planned on going to Gamescom 2012, one of the largest gaming expos in the world.

EA is still loyal to the convention, however, as its Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, Jeff Brown, told Joystiq that the company was going to attend Gamescom 2012.

"We are definitely committed to Gamescom - love that show and the people who attend it," he said. "We're planning the press conference for the day before the show and will send out invites in the next couple of weeks.”

As opposed to E3, Gamescom is a convention open to the public, so it’s great to hear that all attendants will be able to try out EA’s latest titles, provided they’re ready to withstand the long lines.
