Don’t get too excited. This is not the iTunes 11 Apple previewed yesterday, but a mere incremental update that adds compatibility with the upcoming iOS 6, as well as new iPod models.

A technical note on Apple’s Downloads site reveals that “iTunes 10.7 adds support for iOS 6 running on compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models.”

The Mac maker notes that “this update also adds support for the latest iPod nano and iPod shuffle models.”

iTunes 10.7 also fixes memory corruption issues that may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution after visiting a maliciously crafted website. The issues are addressed through improved memory handling, Apple says in a separate document.
