Sony has released not one, but two different system software updates for its two current home consoles, the PS4 and PS3, taking their firmware up to versions 1.72, for the PS4, and 4.60, for the PS3.

The PS4 and PS3 have been experiencing some pretty good sales figures recently, even if the newer model is definitely performing better than its last-gen predecessor.

In order to keep PS4 and PS3 owners happy, as well as to eliminate any potential issues, Sony has just rolled out two different firmware updates for the PS4 and PS3.

First up, the PS4 will see its system software reach version 1.72, while the PS3 will reach version 4.60.

According to the official PlayStation Twitter account, both firmware versions improve system software stability.

"System software updates coming soon for PS4 (v1.72) and PS3 (v4.60), both will improve system software stability during use of some features," Sony said.

Both firmware updates are now available for download via the PlayStation Network and will be automatically transferred if your console is connected to the Internet.

No other details have been given, so it's unclear just what issues have been resolved by the two new software updates for the PS4 and PS3.
