PlayStation 4 system software update 1.70 is finally available for download worldwide via the PlayStation Network, weighing in at 194MB.

The PS4 was released last year in certain parts of the world, and it has since made its debut in quite a few other countries, reaching big sales figures and impressing millions of owners.

Sony has also made sure to improve the console's performance and stability, not to mention add new features, via various system software updates.

Now, PS4 firmware update 1.70 has just been rolled out all around the world.

The new system software brings a suite of different features to the console, starting with a ShareFactory video editing application, to the removal of HDCP encryption, the ability to save screenshots and videos onto a USB drive, and much more.

Enhancements to the Share system, the Friends mechanic, the PS Camera, or the DualShock 4 are also included in it.

The new firmware is now available for download via the PlayStation Network and it should begin the transfer automatically if the console is connected to the Internet.

It weighs in at around 194MB, so it shouldn't be a problem on wired or wireless connections.

Expect to see more details about the firmware in the following days.
