Vuze has been updated to version 4.3.0.2 for Mac OS X, adding support per-url config for http seeds and the max_speed setting, and other changes. Vuze is similar to uTorrent, a popular BitTorrent client mostly used by PC owners.

According to the release notes for Vuze 4.3.0.2, the new features include Core - support per-url config for http seeds and max_speed setting; Plug - start of a fallback magnet lookup service; UI - clicking on dock icon always opens main window. The core changes include: parse hex-encoded magnet URIs too; immediate-close option for tracker socket connections; return IP address instead of DNS names for external seeds; support more non-conformant RSS feed dates; auto-speed bias towards min ping times rather than pure average. A lengthy list of bug fixes is also made available as follows:

Core - Reverted socket handling to initial 1.6 fix status to fix with network binding/stall problems; Core - Added option to disable all IPv6 support and defaulted to 'disable' on OSX as some users experiencing crash when enabled; Plug - Don't cause all dht torrents to perform an 'announce' when 'pause-all' selected; Plug - Webplugin config section override was using the wrong variable prefix; UI - Fixed name column sort; UI - (OSX) Fixed opening .vuze files when client isn't running; UI - Fixed table view not loading (showing gray area) sometimes; UI - (Windows) "Open Containing Folder" in default "folder association" app; UI - (*nix) Fixed name column blanking; UI - (OSX) Fixed Password option hanging UI; UI - Fixed sidebar font sizes (mostly for *nix); UI - (OSX) Opening .torrent file when "Add Silently" is enable should no longer activate the main window; UI - Fix losing cursor indication on Sashes (and other widgets); UI - Sidebar now accepts dropping torrents.

The cross-platform BitTorrent client makes transferring files via the BitTorrent protocol a breeze, using a new, split-window MyTorrents view with support for categories, and advanced downloading / seeding / queuing rules for powerful and automated torrent management, as well as a customizable user interface. Vuze supports a total of 27 available languages.

Vuze greatly extends the original Python client's feature set, and can manage multiple downloads at once, from a single window, or offer detailed, real-time download statistics with export to XML, advanced download and seeding-management rules, configuration and torrent-creation wizards, embedded tracker for an easy and automated hosting of your own files, PeerGuardian IP address filtering and web browser, and console UIs. The software can also seed from read-only media. Vuze is now compatible with all Mac OS X versions starting with 10.3 (Panther) and ending with 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
