Diablo III is coming to the PC in early 2012, but its developer, Blizzard, is still experimenting with a possible console edition of the game, which has once again been proved through a new job listing posted by the studio.

Diablo III has been a long time coming, with Blizzard teasing fans for quite some time while once again adopting its traditional strategy of not revealing a release date until it’s absolutely satisfied with the game.

We already know that the title will be released for the PC early next year, but Blizzard has always talked about a possible arrival of the dungeon crawling role-playing game on consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Now, this is once again confirmed thanks to a new job listing on Gamasutra, as the studio is looking for a Network Senior Software Engineer who needs to be responsible for ensuring the best implementation of sophisticated networking systems on consoles.

Diablo III will require an always-on internet connection and will use quite a lot of online systems for things like the Auction House on the PC, so it seems that Blizzard also wants to bring these features to the possible console versions of the game.
