Gamers should also try to clear their console cache

Destiny continues to be one of the most played shooters of the moment and that means the development team at Bungie needs to deal as quickly as possible with the variety of problems that the community has been reporting over the busy Christmas and New Year playing periods.

In a message on the official help Twitter account, the developers announce that they have managed to identify the cause of the indefinite black load screen problem that some gamers have been reporting, and a clear cache action should be able to deal with it.

It seems that for a minority of players the issue might only be solved by re-installing the entire game, which might take some time.

Fortunately, Destiny stores all important character data on a server and keeps it tied to the player's account, which means that his Guardians and other personal elements should be restored without any problems.

Bungie says that all those gamers who do not manage to eliminate the black load screen issue by using these two steps should contact the studio as soon as possible and offer more details in order to make sure that their problem can be solved in the future.

Destiny needs to keep gamers engaged until Comet comes

A recent leak suggests that gamers will have to wait just until March of this year in order to get access to the House of Wolves expansion for the social shooter, which will introduce three new story missions for gamers to explore, one major raid, one strike and four new maps for Player versus Player action.

But the big moment for Destiny fans in 2015 will be September, when the community will get to experience Comet: Plague of Darkness.

The leak says that the expansion will upgrade core elements of the shooter and will introduce an entire new location, 12 more story missions, and one major raid with a powerful end boss for gamers to face.

Until then, Destiny fans can look forward to a return of the Iron Banner event, which will come with a number of tweaks and new rewards, and to more balancing updates from Bungie, which will improve the overall experience of the game.
