The Alliance team hailing from Sweden is the winner of the most recent The International tournament that Valve organized for its Multiplayer Online Battle Arena DOTA 2.

The team faced Na’Vi from the Ukraine in the final and managed to take the overall match by winning 3 games out of the five played, according to Gamespot.

Alliance has taken home no less than 1.32 million dollars (1.11 million Euro) in prize money, one of the biggest awards in the history of eSports.

16 teams were originally part of The International for DOTA 2.

Neolution Orange, a team from Malaysia, is in third place, which means that for the first time in the history of the tournament no team from China managed to crack the top three.

Part of the prize money for the competition was provided by fans of DOTA 2 themselves, who purchased a special compendium that also offered a range of rewards.
