Back in January we received a tip saying the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet was going to be updated to Android 4.4 soon.

Basically, LG is expected to skip the Android 4.3 update phase for the tablet, including the Verizon LTE model that will go on sale this week, and go straight for Android 4.4. But since then, the waters have remained silent and no novelty surfaced in the matter. Until now.

According to recent developments, reported by TabletCommunity, the Korean tech giant has confirmed via Facebook that the update will be coming to Germany in the second quarter.

The exact date and possible additional enhancements provided by LG itself (on top of the Android 4.4. goodies) have not been disclosed, but might be made available at a later date.

The LG G Pad 8.3 is a capable tablet with an 8.3-inch display, boasting a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). The slate is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor combined with 2GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of storage (expandable via microSD card).

LG G Pad 8.3 owners will certainly appreciate the improvements KitKat brings to the table, including a perfected Google Now personal assistant experience, an easier way to print from their Android tablet and the ability to quickly back-up their data. Keep your fingers crossed!
