14 DAY TRIAL // Game developer Coladia has announced updates for its point-and-click adventure titles for Mac OS X. The games are now compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, according to InsideMacGames. Updates are available for Return to Mysterious Island, Cleopatra: a Queen's Destiny, Destination: Treasure Island, and The Secret of the Lost Cavern.
Return to Mysterious Island is the second title in the series inspired by Jules Verne's classics. Key elements include survival, exploration, discovery and puzzles, set in a tropical-island setting. The game distinguishes itself thanks to an original, interactive inventory system, which allows you to combine and create new items and tools. System requirements include: an Intel or PowerPC G5 processor running at 1.6 Ghz; 512 MB of memory; 2 GB of free space on your hard drive and Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
Cleopatra: a Queen's Destiny boasts “hyper-realistic graphics” and amazing environments including rivers, green valleys, troglodyte caves, according to the game’s description. Players interact with wild animals and many prehistoric characters in order to achieve their quest. The point-and-click adventure game also features an integrated encyclopedia created in collaboration with a renowned specialist to learn all the ways, customs and techniques of the prehistoric period. System requirements were unavailable at the time of this post, but we’re guessing they’re not much different from the other games’. Cleopatra: a Queen's Destiny is also a Universal Binary. Destination: Treasure Island is described as a “thrilling quest” in which players set out in search of a treasure. It boasts highly colored and detailed graphics to give players a real taste for travel. Dozens of fascinating enigmas must be solved to reach the treasure. Specs for Destination: Treasure Island are a tad more pretentious. A recommended configuration includes an Intel processor running at 2.0 Ghz, 1 GB of memory, 2 GB of free space on one's hard drive, a video card with 64 MB of memory and Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5.
Secret of the Lost Cavern, the fourth title in Coladia’s collection of point-and-click quest games for Mac, features an original soundtrack and sound effects creating an immersive atmosphere. According to the game’s plot, “Strange symbols found while hunting remind Arok of an encounter with a charismatic traveler a long time ago. In order for him to find his long-forgotten friend, the most brilliant painter of Prehistoric times, Arok begins a long and perilous journey.” The Universal app runs on both Intel and PowerPC processors, while additional system requirements are unavailable at this point.
