Clonezilla Live, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast that allows users to do bare metal backup and recovery, is now at version 2.2.3-28 and is ready for testing.
The Clonezilla team has just a released a new development build for this Linux distribution and it comes with a series of updates for some of the components, including one for the Linux kernel.
“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2014 /Jul /15),” reads the official announcement.
According to the changelog, the Linux kernel is now at version 3.14.12-1 (one of the latest available), the drbl package has been updated to version 2.9.10-drbl1, and the partclone package is now at version 0.2.72.drbl1 and comes with the newer xfs library.
Clonezilla Live is a Linux distribution that does only one thing: bare metal backup and recovery. It's very similar to other, older pieces of cloning software, such as True Image or Norton Ghost.
