Veloce Designs, LLC has released a free iPhone app to help people struggling with cognitive impairments – Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia – to browse the web and connect with others.

Clevermind is an interactive, easy-to-use Internet app that offers speech recognition, an interaction module called “MY Intelligent Robotic Assistant” (MYIRA) that provides visual depiction of dialogs, big buttons, large fonts and an intuitive interface, all carefully designed for people with cognitive disabilities, and the elderly.

The Facebook component offers a simplified experience which doesn’t clog the user’s view, and the app includes a personalized Journal for daily writing or drawing.

Also included are some simple games, such as quizzes for keeping the brain stimulated, tic tac toe, a very simple Internet web browser, and more.

Future releases will include cognitive assessment training, tracking and reporting, the ability to customize menu items, more games and more levels for the existing ones, and multi-user profiles.
