Google has just pushed the first important update for Chrome browser for Android devices. However, the latest update may have created some problems for those who rooted their phones and are now using custom ROMs.

According to reports, the new update breaks Chrome for most rooted devices, so proceed with caution in case you flashed a custom ROM on your Android 4.0 device.

The latest version of Chrome for Android beta received a major speed improvement, as well as Android Beam support, so users will be able to beam URLs from within the browser to other devices that feature NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities.

There is support for additional countries, as well as essential bug fixes. Several known issues have been found as well, such as the inability to switch between mobile/desktop UA. In addition, YouTube links do not prompt for which app to use.

Last but not least, it appears that Chrome for Android beta does not support configured proxy in Wi-Fi settings.
