Customs Police officers in Dalian, Liaoning Province, in China, are taught the art of smiling in a specific “how to smile” course.

Officers practice the prefect smile by holding chopsticks between their teeth and forcing themselves to smile with them.

WhatsOnDalian reports that the Liaoning Customs office is attempting to “standardize officials' amenity protocols,” to a point where, apparently, they all have to smile in the same way.

As this picture took during the “how to smile” class shows, customs officers, especially female officers, should put on a big grin when welcoming tourists to Dalian.

Dalian is the second largest city in the Liaoning Province and China's northernmost warm water port, Wikipedia informs.
