It's really nice to see people in the web community devoting their efforts to make things better. And when "things" mean display drivers, they are a godsend.

An Italian programmer known as asder00, about whom we've already written before comes up with a modified version of AMD's Catalyst 12.1 Preview driver. His efforts have targeted adding support for way more GPUs than those supported in the official release of said driver.

AMD's version was intended for Radeon HD700 series GPUs, but thanks to asder00's tenacious work, a lot of older GPUs can now use the 12.1 Catalyst. There is no WHQL certification, naturally, so don't be scared when Windows Security will display the red pop-ups; just install the driver and enjoy.

The list of supported GPUs in the original version is quite big, and the new list is even bigger so if you feel like checking them you should visit asder00's initial announce. As for the drivers, they can be downloaded from the links below:
