A useful plugin that provides unique capabilities and functions

Calibre is one of the best eBook management software available right now, but its strength lies in the abundance of plugins available for it.

This week we’ll take a look at a very interesting plugin called “Kindle Collections”. According to the developer, it allows users to manage the Kindle collections, margins, and fonts.

The latest generation of Kindle e-book readers, the ones without keyboard and touch controls, rely on a cumbersome virtual keyboard. Users need to scroll with the directional keys to the desired letters and select each one individually.

With the help of Kindle Collections, users will be able to create categories from Calibre and import them later, thus escaping the hassle of using the virtual keyboard.

Another important function of the plugin is the ability to change the font and margins. There aren’t any other plugins that can change these characteristics, so Kindle Collections is probably one of the most useful add-ons to be found for Calibre.

It can be easily installed from the preferences menu or from the official forum, and it needs version 0.8.6 or higher. A comprehensive tutorial about its usage can be found on the said official forum.
